Working in the Public Sector (national, local government, etc)

Salary scales are used to determine a persons salary. It will be unreasonable to give an average salary due to the range in salary scales offered by different departments.

Working in the Private Sector (private companies, private schools, etc)

It would be acceptable to state that people working in the private sector receive better salaries than in the public sector, although this is not always the case. However, salaries offered are affected by the candidates' relevant qualifications and experience and are in a lot of cases negotiable.

Private Practice

Practitioners in private practice can earn an above average income. It is however hard work and a business-orientated attitude and skills are necessary to be successful. Monthly income will also vary.
