Senior Clinical Psychologist

Centre: Bophelong Psychiatric Hospital
Salary: R146 685 per annum
Requirements:
- A degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (proof of registration to be attached).
- Be able to work under pressure.
- Good interpersonal relationships and positive attitude towards patients and colleagues.
- 1-2 years' experience as a Clinical Psychologist in a hospital setup.
Duties:
- Evaluate, by means of interviews, psychometric tests and rehabilitation by means of psychotherapeutic treatment and persons with psychiatric deviations.
- Be able to work in a psychiatric setting.
- Handle psychiatric patients with medical conditions.
- Identify patients who could benefit from psychological intervention.
- These patients should also be presented to a multi-disciplinary team.
- Deal with the cognitive and behavioural aspects of patients.
- Manage and contribute towards planning of the psychology unit.
- Implement quality assurance measures in the department.
- Plan and manage interns according to the Council's expectations.
- Conduct various kinds of therapies and write reports.
- Review and formulate strategic policies and guidlines of the unit according to COHSASA.
- Experience in a Health Sector will be an added advantage.
